Samsung has announced that users of 2020 Smart TVs will now have the option to choose Google Assistant as their voice assistant. Along with Amazon Alexa and Bixby, Google Assistant is available on all 2020 4K and 8K QLED TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace.
Google Assistant provides an enhanced user experience making interactions with Smart TVs faster and easier. Google Assistant helps users control compatible smart home devices, get real-time answers, browse channels, adjust the volume, open apps, control playback, and much more.
Google Assistant searches movies and TV shows, plays music, provides the latest sports scores and weather forecast. Users can also use Google Assistant to control the lights, adjust the thermostat, set the alarm, and much more. With Google Assistant, users also have access to well-known Google services such as Google Search, Google Calendar, Google Maps, and Google Photos.
Samsung Smart TV users can now choose Alexa, Bixby, or Google Assistant as their default voice assistant. While Bixby has been available to Samsung Smart TV users since 2018, Samsung only integrated the option to use Amazon Alexa earlier this year. Alexa is now available on Samsung Smart TVs in fourteen countries around the world. Google Assistant is already available in France, Germany, Italy, and the UK. Google Assistant is expected to roll out to 12 countries by the end of this year. It will be available in Brazil, India, South Korea, and Spain by late November 2020.
