Samsung smartphones started receiving the August 2021 security update in late July, with the Galaxy A52 being first in line. The 5G variant of the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip have also received the update this week. Now the time has come for the original Galaxy Fold to receive the new software update. The update has firmware version F900FXXS5EUG1. It comes with the August 2021 security patch and fixes 40 user privacy and security vulnerabilities. It can also address general bugs and carry some device stability improvements.
The update is already available to Galaxy Fold (SM-F900F) owners in France. So if you are among them, check for the update notification. You can also check for the update in the Settings menu. Find the "Software Update" section and tap "Download and Install.".
The Galaxy Fold was released with Android 9-based One UI in September 2019. Almost two years have passed since then, and the smartphone has switched to Android 11-based One UI 3.1, which offers several features introduced with the Galaxy S21 series.
