According to the latest rumors, Samsung could launch four foldable smartphones in 2021, namely two Galaxy Z Fold 3 models and two next-in-line Galaxy Z Flip models. Interestingly, the latter could skip straight to the number three in its name and will be called the Galaxy Z Flip 3. All the names mentioned are not confirmed yet and could be changed in the future.
Previously, it was speculated that the company is working on a new device in the Galaxy Z family, which could have either a stretchable or a rollable display. The latest information sweeps away rumors of a new foldable form factor from Samsung in 2021. At the same time, Korean media claims that Samsung has not abandoned the idea of extendable smartphone displays but plans to improve the technology as much as possible before starting mass production.
As for the four new foldable smartphones, they are expected to be introduced in the second half of 2021, with production starting in August. It is also reported that Samsung is designing a device specifically for the Chinese market. Thus, the company will likely launch two Galaxy Z Fold 3 models, each targeting a specific market. The Galaxy Z Flip devices, in turn, will differ in both features and performance. However, all four devices are expected to support 5G.
