Samsung has now started rolling out a new Galaxy Watch Active 2 update. It includes another useful Galaxy Watch 3 feature. In addition to the Galaxy Watch 3 features ported earlier, such as the new running analysis, VO2 measurement, and fall detection, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 now will also have voice guidance during exercise through a headset connected to the device. The device will inform its user about cumulative data and heart rate when using the Auto Lap function during running or cycling.
The update also introduces minor changes to the user interface. The second hand won't be displayed on the Always On Display screen anymore. Improvements have also been made to system stability and software performance.
The update has firmware version R820XXU1CTJ5 and is about 60 MB in size. South Korea is the first country to receive the update. Users from other countries may have to wait a while before the update becomes available worldwide. Expect to receive an update notification on your device soon.
