Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit will be held in digital form on December 1-2. Qualcomm has already started sending out press invitations to the online event. The reasons for such an event format are obvious: the pandemic and quarantine restrictions. And although Qualcomm has not confirmed for sure that the Snapdragon 875 chipset will be announced during the event, there is every indication that it will.
It is expected that Snapdragon 875 will be a 5nm chipset with one Cortex-X1 CPU core, three Cortex-A78 CPU cores, four Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and an integrated Snapdragon X60 5G modem. Most likely, the chipset will be used in the Galaxy S21 series. In addition, the chipset may be used in high-end smartphones from Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus, Realme, and Vivo. Snapdragon 775G, a premium mid-range chipset, is also said to be released during the event. According to rumors, Samsung Foundry will manufacture the new Snapdragon 875, Snapdragon 875G, Snapdragon 775G, and Snapdragon 735G chipsets.
Early next year, Samsung is also expected to release its own flagship chipset, the 5nm Exynos 1000 (or Exynos 2100). There is no clear answer yet whether the new Exynos chipset will feature the Cortex-X1 CPU core or the newest ARM core.
