Not much time has passed since Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 lineup, but there are already discussions about what the flagship of next year will be like. According to rumors, work on it is already in full swing, with the main emphasis on avoiding the problems that upset users of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. For example, its camera had difficulty focusing on objects. Even though subsequent firmware updates fixed some problems, it just wasn't good for the reputation of the top flagship.
Rumor has it that Samsung will abandon laser autofocus technology. Also, it is said that the potential version of the new smartphone will be equipped with a 150-megapixel main sensor along with a 64-megapixel telephoto, 16-megapixel wide-angle, and a 12-megapixel macro sensor. The ToF sensor is listed as part of the Galaxy S21 configuration as well.
It is assumed that Samsung is currently considering two versions of this model: one with the OIS technology on the main and telephoto lenses, as well as on a selfie camera, and the other with the OIS technology on the main, telephoto and wide-angle cameras.
So far, only the Galaxy A series has been equipped with a macro camera. But there were rumors that the Galaxy S20 could also get it. Since these rumors have not been confirmed, such a possibility remains for the flagship of next year. Samsung is also expected to focus on higher resolution sensors which will make it possible to use a 150-megapixel main sensor.
However, at the moment these are just rumors and speculations. Now we can only wait until the real information with the characteristics of the Galaxy S21 camera becomes available, and we hope that this will happen at least in the second half of this year.
