During Galaxy Unpacked 2020, Samsung, in addition to the demonstration of its latest flagship products, announced a partnership with Netflix. It involves the integration of Bixby Voice Assistant into the popular video streaming service. In addition, Netflix will create exclusive video content based on Netflix Originals, available to owners of Galaxy smartphones. This content will include bonus and behind-the-scenes moments shot with the Galaxy S20 lineup.
After a couple of months, the Netflix Android app has finally got support for Bixby Voice with the latest update. Now owners of Galaxy smartphones, who are actively using the Bixby Voice Assistant, will be able to start playing content with voice commands.
Although the function works as promised, it is not innovative. Google Assistant users have long been able to navigate the Netflix streaming service with their voice. Since Google Assistant already provides such a possibility, Samsung needs to work hard to bring Bixby Voice to a higher level, given that not many people actively use Bixby Voice compared to its rivals. Despite all this, it’s still nice to see that Samsung smartphones have got the promised feature.
